Richard and Nia delight to see Father transforming people’s hearts all around the world. God’s love has and is transforming every aspect of their own lives, including their marriage and their relationships with their children.

Prior to joining Fatherheart Ministries, Richard and Nia were missionaries for more than two decades. They spent the first decade focused on a large unreached people group in Indonesia. They then relocated to Malaysia for 14 years to concentrate on Biblical Studies education and training.

In between these two terms, Richard undertook further theological studies and served in various churches in the United Kingdom. One evening in 1999, in the middle of a prayer meeting, Richard was deeply challenged and convicted of his own inability to receive and experience God as a Father. This milestone event ignited Richard and Nia’s pursuit of God as our divine parent, a life-altering quest that continues until this very day.

In 2006, Richard was invited to be part of the ministry team at a conference in Kuala Lumpur led by James Jordan from Fatherheart Ministries. The challenge in James’s preaching totally rocked his world and Nia had a similar experience shortly thereafter. Ultimately, their whole team travelled to New Zealand to attend a Fatherheart Ministries ‘A’ School with James and Denise in 2007. B Schools and other milestone events with the Jordans followed, with Richard and Nia joining James & Denise and Fatherheart Ministries in the latter part of 2009. Dozens and dozens of schools would follow, including re-pioneering the 3-month Inheriting the Nations School in 2012. Today, Richard and Nia delight to roam the nations, meeting with people and helping bring leadership to conferences, A Schools, B Schools, Contemplative Retreats and other residential expressions of Fatherheart Ministries.

Richard was born in Hersham in the United Kingdom. Nia was born in Jakarta, Indonesia. They were married in Bogor, Indonesia in 1992, and have two beautiful daughters, Hannah & Stephanie. While Richard enjoys hiking, walking, swimming, writing and riding motorcycles, Nia enjoys swimming, card making, sewing, writing poetry and time alone.
